CUSB Bank is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of Iowa’s Top  Workplaces by the Des Moines Register. The announcement was made in the Des Moines Register’s publication on Sunday, Sept. 13. This is the fifth time for this designation, being named a Top Iowa Workplace in 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020.

J. Scott Thomson, CEO and President of CUSB Bank, said, “It's great to be named as one of the top workplaces in the state of Iowa but even more special when your own staff makes this designation a reality through their feedback given in a survey. The award, voted on by our staff (non-owners), tells us that they feel appreciated and are provided with up-to-date financial tools in a dynamic business environment in which to take care of the needs of our valued customers. Our bank culture sits on five pillars that represent what we stand for at CUSB Bank. These pillars are communication, trust, collective responsibility, caring, and pride. I feel our employees emulate these values to our valued customers and as CEO and President of CUSB Bank, I could not be more proud.”

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by Energage, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. Energage conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 40 major publishing partners across the United States.

CUSB Bank’s employees completed a survey that asked them about the direction of the bank, work conditions, career development, execution, managers, pay, and benefits. CUSB Bank has 87 employees across their five locations in Cresco, Ridgeway, Lime Springs, Osage, and Charles City.

Thomson said, “We are proud to be named a Top Workplace in the state of Iowa by our employees. CUSB Bank was established 132 years ago on strong values and ethics and we have hired people that have the same values. We are proud of our employees and know that a bank is a bank is a bank, however, the people inside are what makes a difference.”

The Des Moines Register published the complete list of Top Workplaces on September 13.
